This animation, done in November 2024, was a personal project done for a friend’s birthday, as well as furthering my knowledge of 2D animation and the workings of Adobe After Effects. This animation was done using Adobe Photoshop to sketch out my references, then completed in After Effects.

The reference material for this project came from the 2017 game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series called Sonic Forces. This game is unique and special to me because it is the only one where the player can customize a character they play as, while unlocking more cosmetics as the game progresses. This animation stars the titular Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as the wolf character my friend designed for his play though of the game. The background text is a designed based on the logo for the 2003 Sonic game, Sonic Heroes, and the background image contains one of my friend’s favorite level design from the same game.
